Run for a Cause! Burdado Color Run for the Tattoo Community

For the past months, I’ve decided to take a turn towards a healthier lifestyle. I jog for about an hour every morning and lessen my rice intake. This is because I’ve noticed that all my college textbooks were correct:

Aging does slow down one’s metabolism

At the age of 26, I find it really difficult to lose weight. Couple that with the fact that my career shift takes me to a job where I need to sit down for 9 hours. When I was still a nurse, I was running and jumping all day so I was far thinner then. And it was easier to be below 50 kilograms when I was younger! Just a few oatmeal snacks will do the trick.

The circumstances couldn’t have been more perfect as the Streetwise Burdado Color Run 2016 is happening on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Roxas Boulevard, Manila, (across the Rajah Sulayman Park), and I will take part in it! *wink

It is a run-for-a-cause event for the Philippine Tattoo Community. Burdado Color Run is geared towards eradicating the bad stigma on tattooed individuals and instead appreciate the artistic showcase that they offer. The organizers are also persuading the public to live a healthier lifestyle through exercise.

Since this is a color run affair, I am particularly excited to throw colorful powders while running! The event also promises non-stop music from bands like April Morning Skies, Stilllife, Planes, and Intersections as well as DJs Ron Poe, DJ Joker, and many others.

Race kits are priced at PHP 500, 600, and 750 for 3km, 5km, and 10km runs, respectively. These rates already include the official race singlet, bib, color powder sachets, eyeglasses, Burdado sticker tattoos, loot bags, and of course, finisher’s medal. What an amazing deal!
